It’s official: Sony has announced that the PS4 will get 4K support in 2017, with a price drop to $399.
There will also be a range of new PS4s, including the Pro and the Pro Plus.
The Pro will have “superb performance and a massive library of exclusive games”, with “a whole host of new games that will be available for a price.”
It will also include a range “of entertainment, games, apps, and entertainment-enhancing features”.
The Pro Plus, meanwhile, will “bring gamers the best of PS4 with a range that includes a new generation of PS games, including Uncharted 4, The Last of Us Remastered, and more”.
All this comes after a year where the PS3 Pro was the clear winner over the PS Vita Pro, and we’ll find out whether Sony is still the only console maker capable of hitting 4K in 2017.
We’ll be keeping an eye on the PS Pro and its successor, the PS5 Pro, which will also debut in 2017 and will feature HDR support.
